JEFFERSON- Rainbow Community Care is proud to announce that Kenyon Kemnitz, Marketing Communications Manager, was recognized by the Milwaukee Press Club with four prestigious Awards for Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism. The honors were presented during the annual Gridiron Awards dinner held at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee on Friday, May 8th.
The awards celebrate Kemnitz's impactful storytelling published in the Watertown Daily Times, highlighting his unique ability to blend journalism with narrative medicine—a clinical practice that uses storytelling to improve patient care and community understanding.
Kemnitz received top honors in the following categories:
- GOLD: Best Long Soft Feature Story (Online) for "From Major League Dreams to Life's Final Innings at Rainbow"
- GOLD: Best Sports Story (Online) for "Goslings Ready to Take Flight at Bryant & Stratton College"
- SILVER: Best Explanatory Story or Series (Writing) for "The Long Road Back: Rainbow Nurse Shares COVID-19 Story"
- SILVER: Best Long Soft Feature Story (Writing) for "Shared Love of Springsteen Music Helps Family Honor Late Father"
Additonally, Kemnitz was named a finalist for:
- BEST PERSONAL PROFILE (Writing): "Beyond the Bucket List: Dolores' Grand Slam Day"
- BEST SPORTS STORY (Writing): "Double Play: Hurtgen Twins Make Their Mark in Baseball and Beyond"

The Milwaukee Press Club's Excellence in Journalism awards are among the state's most coveted honors, recognizing professional journalists for work that informs, inspires, and serves the public interest. Kemnitz's work continues to champion the human experience within hospice and palliative care, proving that the art of storytelling is a vital component of the healing process.
