Carol has been with Rainbow since 2002 and has served many different roles over the past two decades. She started as an RN Case Manager and in 2013 became Rainbow's VP of Quality and Clinical Operations in which she provided overall planning, direction, and education for all quality and clinical activities within the organization. Carol was named Rainbow's new President in January 2024 and took over the role of CEO in April 2024.

From the beginning of her medical journey, Shagun Saggar was moved by the power of presence, finding that sitting with patients and families during times of uncertainty was as vital as any clinical intervention. This natural pull toward hospice and palliative medicine was solidified during her fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, leading to a pivotal role with Bayada Hospice. There, she helped establish the organization's first hospice medical program in Vermont and New Hampshire, fostering a practice rooted in honesty, connection, and comfort. Dr. Saggar’s career deepened at the University of Wisconsin, where she served as the Attending of Inpatient Services for the Palliative Care Program. Beyond clinical care, she found profound meaning in teaching fellows and residents, ensuring that the value of compassion is passed to the next generation of physicians. Later, as Division Chief of Palliative Care Medicine at SSM Health, Dr. Saggar oversaw programs across six hospitals, leading with a philosophy that prioritizes the human story at the center of medicine.

Now serving as the Medical Director of Rainbow Community Care, Dr. Saggar remains dedicated to the belief that while the reality of life’s final chapter cannot be changed, the experience can be shaped with dignity and peace.

As Chief Financial Officer, Michael oversees the accounting, finance, human resources, information technology, and facilities at Rainbow Community Care. Michael has spent most of his professional career as a member of RCC’s leadership team. He began his employment toward the end of 2013 as the Organization’s first Director of Finance and IT, a new role which the Board of Directors approved to better position RHC for continued growth.

As a part of the Senior Leadership team, Michael has been involved the tremendous growth experienced at Rainbow Community Care with the number of patients served and the number extraordinary staff that make this a special organization. The accomplishments of this group include the creation of the Rainbow Hospice Foundation, the design and construction of the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center and the expansion of services to include Palliative Care. As the number of support staff continued to grow, including a Systems Administrator, an HR Generalist and a Facilities Manager, Michael transitioned into his current role as Chief Financial Officer.

Kate comes to Rainbow Hospice Care from Recover Health, a home health and private duty nursing provider, where she previously served as Administrator. She served as Rainbow's Manager of Supportive Care Services for three years, where she managed our Supportive Care Management program, a special kind of community-based palliative care that helps patients and caregivers who are struggling with the burdens associated with living with advancing chronic disease, and our Community Resource Liaison, a person solely dedicated to working with local churches and parish nurses to connect vulnerable patient populations with needed resources. Kate was named Rainbow's Senior Director of Innovation in April 2024.

Kate also serves as Administrator of the Wisconsin Hospice and Palliative Care Collaborative (WHPCC), a partnership of the state’s five leading nonprofit hospice and palliative care organizations that is designed to improve the patient experience and quality of care while demonstrating value to the market by achieving improved clinical outcomes and cost savings.

Shauna Lambrecht is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with experience in hospice, cardiology, chronic disease management, and mental health. Her role in our Palliative Care program focuses on helping patients achieve their goals of care and managing their symptoms. With her knowledge and experience, Shauna is able to guide patients and their families through complex healthcare decisions, ensuring that their care aligns with their values and wishes. Using a compassionate approach, Shauna is able to connect with patients during what can be a vulnerable time in their lives. She prioritizes building strong relationships with her patients and their families, ensuring that they feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey.

Angie started her career in hospice in 2005. She began working as an RN Case Manager with Rainbow Community Care in 2013 and transitioned into the Inpatient Center Manager role in 2015. Angie has been certified in hospice and palliative care (CHPN) since 2009 and recently served as Rainbow's Director of Nursing for the organization, overseeing both the Inpatient Center and Home Hospice. She is now Rainbow Community Care's Senior Director of Hospice Services.

Mindy is a CAPSW (Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker) and has been with Rainbow since 2009. In her tenure, she has helped train and guide the social service department, which has expanded to include ten Social Workers, a Chaplain, and two Bereavement Counselors. Mindy continues to grow in her practice as the Social Worker serving the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center and continues to be a strong advocate for Advance Care Planning as a trained facilitator and former instructor for Honoring Choices Wisconsin. Mindy recently served as Rainbow's Director of Social Services and is now the Director of Integrated Wellness.

In his role as the organization's chief business development officer, Mike collaborates with patient care teams, clinical leadership and referral sources to build the depth and breadth of the community's understanding of what it means to live well as we age and become seriously ill. He routinely combines insights gathered from market intelligence and data analytics to identify opportunities for growth, develop strategic communication campaigns, and measure progress toward goal achievement. Over time, his efforts have produced the highest Medicare Hospice Utilization rate in the State of Wisconsin (per HealthPivots, Jefferson County ranked 1st out of 72 counties in 2024). Mike is also well known for his groundbreaking work as co-producer of Consider the Conversation, the Emmy-nominated public television series that intimately explored the American struggle with communication and preparation for end-of-life.

Michelle has been involved in many different areas in her years at Rainbow Community Care, including office management, project and event management, and human resources. In her current role as HR Manager, she supports the company and employees throughout the employee life cycle, including interviewing and hiring, payroll, policies, and benefits and leave administration.

Brooke is a seasoned healthcare professional with 20+ years of experience working in a variety of roles including clinical research coordination, clinic management, and community-based residential facility management. In her role as Rainbow’s Director of Quality and Compliance, she provides education and guidance on regulatory and quality initiatives throughout the organization. Brooke also serves as the company’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Official.

Kelly joined the Rainbow Community Care team in January of 2021, bringing five years of nursing management experience. She is responsible for the direction, coordination, management, and supervision of services provided to patients served by the home hospice clinical team.

With Rainbow since November 2022

Nursing is a second career for Sarah Frick. She initially went to college for marketing and public relations but eventually started her own Doula practice, where she supported women, teens, and families through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum for 11 years. She felt a calling to care for people at bedside and later returned to college to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Since that time, she has worked in a variety of nursing roles including employee and occupational health, inpatient labor and delivery, urgent care, case management for a managed care organization, and director of nursing for an assisted living and memory care community. Her first exposure to end-of-life care came while working alongside hospice care teams who were supporting her elderly and developmentally disabled clients in their homes and communities. She is excited to serve the Rainbow team in her role as the Manager of Patient Navigation, utilizing her nursing expertise to ensure patients, families, and those in the community receive the education and support they need to make informed decisions regarding their wishes and goals.

Tamara joined us in August 2023 as Manager of the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek. She brings multiple years of nursing experience in Trauma/ICU, ER, Obstetrics, Medical Surgery, Hospice Care, and Assisted Living to the organization. In her present role, Tamara is involved in all aspects of patient care, including collaborating with internal and external referral sources to facilitate admissions and discharges. She considers it both an honor and a blessing to accompany patients and families during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives.

Jeanine serves the organization as a clinical manager and staff development coordinator. Jeanine is a bachelors-prepared Registered Nurse with most of her nursing career experience in hospice and palliative care. As a nurse educator, Jeanine oversees orientation and provides guidance and education to the clinical department in all areas and topics related to hospice care.
