Rainbow's Karen Carrig wins Lifetime Achievement Award
On February 6th, Karen Carrig, Rainbow Community Care’s former President & CEO, was honored with the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce annual dinner in Jefferson.
Karen dedicated 27 years of her life to enhancing the ripple effect associated with Rainbow’s work in rural South-Central Wisconsin. When she first joined the organization in 1997, we cared for 11 people a day in a fledgling hospice program.
Fast forward to 2025, and Rainbow now serves 4,000 people a year in its hospice, palliative care, advance care planning, grief support, parish nursing, and volunteer programs!
Karen officially retired from her leadership role on April 1, 2024, and now serves as President of the Rainbow Hospice Foundation.
One of our most dedicated volunteers, Ruth Hake, was also nominated for the Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year Award. After surviving cancer, Ruth found her calling by providing comfort to others through volunteering. She dedicates her time to making weekly calls to our hospice patients and their families, offering them support during their most challenging moments.
