Rainbow Community Care, in partnership with community organizations and volunteers, hosted the Strong Foundations Fall Risk & Safety Checks Summit on Tuesday, September 30, at the Fort Atkinson Club. The event brought together more than 75 community members, volunteers, and health professionals with one common goal: raising awareness and strengthening confidence around fall prevention and safety.

Throughout the morning, attendees participated in screenings, heard from expert presenters, and connected with local resources.

  • A total of 27 individuals received fall risk assessments.

  • Many more engaged in one-on-one conversations, collected information, and walked away with practical tools such as grip strengtheners to support independence and wellness.

Presentations highlighted everything from what happens behind the scenes during a 911 call to the importance of practicing safe falls as a physical therapy exercise.

Attendees also learned the value of Tiny Habits—small, consistent changes in daily routines that can have a big impact over time. Whether adding a balance exercise after brushing teeth or practicing grip strength while waiting for the coffee to brew, these simple habits can build confidence, improve strength, and reduce fall risk in everyday life.

Volunteers, community partners, and staff played a vital role in the day’s success, helping with parking, greeting guests, leading sessions, and supporting screenings.

“Friendly greeters outside, informative yet brief presentations, and plenty of resources—it made for an awesome experience.” — Community Member

The event was met with overwhelming gratitude and encouragement from both participants and partners.
