Caregiver Education Series Offered by Rainbow Community Care and ADRC of Jefferson County
Are you feeling overwhelmed as a caregiver? It’s a fact that caregivers have higher levels of stress than non-caregivers. Rainbow Community Care is partnering with the ADRC of Jefferson County to offer Powerful Tools for Caregivers, an educational series designed to provide caregivers with the tools needed to take care of themselves while caring for a family member or friend. This series runs for six weeks, starting on Tuesday, May 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and will be offered in-person in the Community Room at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center, 1225 Remmel Drive, Johnson Creek.
The Powerful Tools for Caregivers program helps caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, improve communication, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions, deal with difficult feelings, and locate helpful resources. Interactive lessons, discussions, and brainstorming will also help caregivers choose tools and put them into action. By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver.
Registration is required. Class space is limited. For more information or to register, please contact Lisa Handrow at lisa.handrow@rainbowhospicecare.org or by call (920) 674-4548 by May 1.
